Friendship starts as a bud
Tight and unrevealed
But soon blossoms to full bloom
When love is real.

Friendship flowers have an aroma
Of sweet delight
That permeates the innermost part
Of the waiting heart
Needing a friend to hold tight.

Friendship flowers come in a marvelous array
Of age and size
And circumstances that open our eyes
Making us cling close and never say goodbyes.

Of all the friends that have been mine
I never would have realized
How special you would be
When I picked you as a friend to me
