Mom Is Everywhere
As I look around my home,
Almost everywhere, I can see;
My mother's handiwork
Things she made for me.
On the floor is a rag rug
She tore each single strip,
Then braided the colors
And sewed every slip.
On my dining room wall
A picture - A church with a bell,
She brought it to cheer me up
When I wasn't feeling well.
Reminding me to have courage
When things go astray.
And take time to thank God
For what I have today.

In the kitchen in the window
Hanging from every pane,
Are shimmering sun-catchers
Each one has a name.
As they send out sunbeams
That dance about everywhere,
How grateful I am
That she has hung them there.
In the white, antique bedroom
Laying across the bed,
Cascading with roses,
Is my heirloom spread.
She selected all the colors
And crocheted every thread,
She even made the pillow
For me to rest my head.
Arthritis has crippled
Almost every finger,
But she kept on working
My, how these memories linger.
She would bring a package
And say, "Take it
To give you a lift,
It's something I made for you,
It's just a little gift,"

Outside in my yard
Placed just so on the ground,
Are turtle, rabbits, and chipmunks
From yard sales around the town.
She placed them ever so carefully,
Always out in open view;
Just to add a little touch
To bring out a different hue.
Beside the trellis of roses
Where often times we sat,
On the bench she gave me
We would have a little chat.
In my garden, home, or shopping
It doesn't matter where,
Every place I look
My mom is everywhere.
Thanks Mom - I Love you!
