The snowman sits keeping vigil
Through the cold winter night.
Ever watchful through the silent night
He watches for the Christmas Spirit.
Looking toward heaven he saw a bright shining star
And wondered if it were the same star
That hovered over the stable in Bethlehem
Shedding light on the Christ child, then.
He listen to the winter wind blow
And saw the swirling snow
And thought how cold it might have been
In that stable long ago in Bethlehem.
As the snowman stood watch through the night
He felt the wind and thought it the voice of God
Sending assurance that the Christmas spirit
Has come with peace and not to fear it.
The snowman's quiet vigil
Is the same we should always keep
For we know not the time of the Lord's return
And we wish not to be found asleep.
Christ came to earth and died on the cross
Paying the sin price for the lost.
Low in the grave He lay but arose the third day,
Ascended to heaven with the promise to return.
Keep vigil for we know not the time
But keep His return ever in mind
To be ready When He comes to take us to heaven
For we have been forgiven.
