~That Cow~
I was run over by a cow today
while opening the gate I got in her way.
She butted me to the ground, In a heap I lie
head In a cowpie my feet to the sky.
I'm sure I heard a laugh as she walked by.

Rising from the ground battered shirt torn
I head for the barn with a limp and a groan.
Cursing as I hobble, a plan comes to mind
I'll tame that old gal today she is mine.
From tack rack -
a saddle over the shoulder I threw
then back to pasture, to tame that old shrew.
As on a bronco I'll chinch this gear,
I'll teach that beast whose ramrod here.

Over her back the saddle I gently lay
as she rolls her eyes and glares my way.
Tight of cinch and bit in place
I sprang to saddle with a mighty bound;
she bowed her back as four feet left the ground.
She belched and bawled then began to run
turned sideways then stopped and spun.
First to right then left she pitched
jarring my teeth she headed for the ditch.

Down the hill into ditch she went
through muddy water, then up the other side of it.
At a bone jarring trot now with one big groan
she made a quick left and headed for home.
charging! To the water tank she ran
as I flew over her head I realized her plan.
Into the water tank she threw me down
while snorting bubbles, I try not to drown.

Lying in water, evil thoughts racing through head
- Once more she has beaten me.
- Once more I wish her dead.
It's time to stop this madness! Time to surrender
keeping in mind, that cow steaks can be very tender.
