~ The Question ~
Sometimes in this world
We think is so cruel,
We become fearful, angry,
And stubborn as a mule.

We want to do things our way
And question how, we won't ask,
No matter how important
And how difficult the task.

People won't hurt me again,
Another chance they won't get.
I've learned my lesson,
A lesson I won't forget.

Why do I feel so sad and lonely
Just plain out of sorts?
Why are people so indifferent,
Isn't there a better course?

I wanted some answers.
To the teacher finally I turned,
"Please help me," I said,
A ray of hope inside me burned.

His answer was so clear,
So simple, it had eluded me.
You've got to love, share,
And a friend you've got to be.

I know it won't be easy,
A different way it's got to be.
This time I won't wait for others,
It's got to begin with me.
